I was born and raised in Newport, South Wales, and currently reside in Bristol, England.

I am currently the Head of Data Operations at the British Broadcasting Company (BBC).

Why did you start this blog?

As a kinesthetic and visual learner, writing has been key to building my knowledge and confidence. Lacking resources, networks, and female role models in IT, I was discouraged from studying it and instead pursued social sciences, which left me unfulfilled. Recognising the power of sharing experiences and inspiring change, I started this blog to be the role model I once needed. Through my writing, I aim to support others navigating similar challenges in IT, fostering a community where passion and empowerment thrive.​

What is your work history?

I've had the privilege of working with leading companies like Apple, Capgemini, Dyson, Amazon, and now the BBC. My roles have spanned sales, technical security, design thinking, innovation, programme management, service operations, data, and leading teams.​

​

How did you transition between industries?

Transitioning industries was challenging yet rewarding, requiring a career shift and significant retraining. Driven by my passion for tech, I faced over 50 job rejections before securing a role at Amazon. Adapting my approach, refining my CV, and taking "stepping stone" roles proved essential. This journey reinforced the power of perseverance, strategy, and continuous learning in achieving career goals.​

Outside of work, I find joy in running, skiing, relieving stress through boxing/martial arts. Love exploring different cultures and foods through travel, and coaching women in STEM.
